The Verbatim was developed with the purpose to assess a person’s ability to understand and accurately problem-solve using English information. The Verbatim is suitable to use in high volume administration such as graduate selection with scores available in a handy excel extract to sort suitable candidates based on the strength of their verbal reasoning ability.
The Verbatim Scales:
o Synonyms: Ability to identify words with similar meanings.
o Opposites: Ability to identify words with opposite meanings.
o Analogies: Ability to recognise relationships between word pairs and apply them to others.
o Reasoning: Ability to think logically using verbal information.
o Interpretation: Ability to read and understand verbal content accurately.
Applications:
The Verbatim can be used for screening, competency-based selection, and training, and are recommended for entry-level or supervisory jobs that require Grade 12 (NQF level 4) English proficiency.
Reports:
Candidate Report: Provides an indication of the way the candidate understands and works with verbal information.
Professional Report: Analyses a candidate's responses and offers insights into how they understand and utilise verbal information.
