There is a general move away from ‘deficit’ models of illness towards a focus on understanding why people flourish despite the challenging business environments throw at them. Individuals who typically cope well with stress, perform their jobs well and are generally positive and happy can be said to have high levels of resilience. Based on eight core areas, the Resilience Questionnaire provides practitioners insights into how individuals manage challenging times, sustain their job performance and cope with change, making it a useful tool to add to development and high-stress occupations’ selection batteries.
