Locus of Control, 5th Ed. (LCI)

Work | Personality | Work Integrity and Risk

With the strong focus on the Big Five factors of personality, other important constructs, such as locus of control, do not always receive the attention it deserves. Yet, locus of control is proven to be predictive of important outcomes in the workplace, such as wellbeing, job satisfaction, commitment, job performance, career success, social experiences and coping strategies. There is a lot of value to be gained by from an understanding of existing and prospective employees’ locus of control based on an accurate assessment. The Locus of Control Inventory (LCI) is a multidimensional measure of locus of control, which has been validated for the South African context, and provides an indication of the extent to which individuals believe that they are in control of their lives in general.
