Understanding emotional, functional, and interpersonal problems in children and teenagers needs to be done tactfully, since these are often their way of expressing depressive feelings of negative mood, self-esteem, and ineffectiveness. The Children’s Depression Inventory 2™ (CDI 2®) has been effectively used by psychology professionals to ask the child, their parents, and/or teachers to assess the presence and severity of key symptoms of depression. CDI reports can be invaluable in supporting the identification and planning of intervention and treatment plans to assist the child in overcoming the diagnosis.
