Potential research study for clinical psychology students

The publisher of the Children’s Apperception Test – Animal form (CAT-A) is looking for students to use the assessment for research purposes in order to update the research on the test.

They are looking for students willing to do a research study with 2 groups of children ages 5 to 11 years, where one group is given the CAT-A with colour and a matching sample of children are given the CAT-A monochrome. The protocols can be compared for number of words and a scoring method that fits with the Bellak S/F, such as Cramer’s defense mechanisms, etc.

The hypothesis of the study would be that the group given the CAT-A with colour will have more “number of words” and more “number of defense mechanisms” per story and per protocol.

If you are interested in conducting such a study for your master’s study, please contact research@jvrafrica.co.za.
