An important distinguishing factor between one assessment and another is the presence or absence of continued research. Excellent assessments are continuously being researched, strengthened and updated to ensure the best possible value to practitioners and clients. During her recent visit to South Africa, Hazel Wheldon (COO Multi Health Systems) illustrated exactly this point when she introduced the new EQ-i 2.0 (known by many as the BarOnEQ-i) to very interested South African audiences. The new EQ-i 2.0 includes new scales, the model has been adapted and the Workplace Report provides context appropriate feedback. Amongst other benefits the amazing software system allows for client independence, administrative ease as well as a social networking interface. This system is as modern and as client centered as you will find in the world today. It takes psychological assessment and scoring to very interesting new levels. JvR has already started to include the information on the new EQ 2.0 in all of our scheduled EQ training courses. We have also scheduled free events to share this information with all the current EQ-i users.** Clients should be able to start using the new EQ-i 2.0 system in July should they wish to do so. Those clients who wish to still use the current EQ-i are absolutely welcome to do so as this is currently still the version with South African research and norms - please note however that this version will only be available until June 2012. If you have any ongoing contracts or projects that may be affected by the June 2012 termination of version 1, please contact us. (Note: The EQ-i Accreditation qualification is still completely valid and there is no need for re-certification.) Please feel free to contact our advisors for more information on the EQ-i 2.0 (info@jvrafrica.co.za or +2711 781-3705) **Information session dates are posted here.
Here is some frequently asked questions around the launch of the EQ-i 2.0:
When is EQ-i 2.0 going to be available? EQ-i 2.0 will be released in early winter 2011 with exclusive pre-launch events taking place from April onwards.
How long will the current EQ-i be available and will I have to start using EQ-i 2.0 immediately upon its release? You will have access to the current EQ-i for a full year following the release of EQ-i 2.0. This means you can transition to the new assessment when it makes sense for you and your business.
Will I have access to all the data if I have an existing personal scoring platform*? Yes, we will provide access to your current EQ-i data following the release of the new version. The functional details of this are still being worked out; however, we recognize the importance of providing you with this access and please rest assured, we will make it available to you.
Will I need to be re-certified in the new version? No, re-certification will not be required. However, attending a pre-launch event is highly recommended to facilitate the transition process.
If I have report uses in my existing personal scoring platform can I transfer them to the new EQ-i 2.0? Yes, of course. EQ-i 2.0 will operate on a token model – thus, making it easier for you to buy what you want when you want it (for example, if a token is R1 and you have report uses valued at R100 on your old platform, we will transfer 100 tokens to your new EQ-i 2.0 platform). In addition, all tokens can be used for any report type, eliminating the need to refund pre-purchased report uses should you need a different type of report.
* If you do not have your own platform yet and would like to set one up, please Client Services on +2711 781-3705 or email clientservices@jvrafrica.co.za. Frequently asked questions about the pre-launch events: What is the cost to attend a pre-launch event? The pre-launch events are free of charge (with the exception of certification for new users of the EQ-i).
I can't attend any of the scheduled pre-launch events. What are my alternative options to learn more about EQ-i 2.0? We certainly recognize the importance of this information. If you can't attend any of the events, we will provide access to online orientations for EQ-i 2.0. We will notify you about this when we are closer to the official release date.
