As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the reliability and validity of our tools, we are pleased to announce the first in a series of updates to Profile:Match2™. Two major changes will take place on Monday 1 August. The Profile:Match2™ recently underwent some important updates. Please take note of the following as published by PCL the distributor of the assessment:

Categorisation of Competencies

We have conducted statistical analysis to group our competencies into new categories. This upgrade will make the process more efficient by helping to guide your decision-making around which competencies to select, ensuring that each contributes additional insight to your assessment. As of 1 August there will be five rather than six categories, with competencies grouped as follows:

  • Delegating
  • Independence
  • Managing Change
  • Persuasive Communication
  • Project Management
  • Results Orientation

  • Analytic
  • Creative
  • Decision Making
  • Flexibility
  • Problem Solving
  • Strategic Awareness

  • Communication Skills
  • Customer Focus
  • Developing Others
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • People Management
  • Team Orientation

  • Attention to Detail
  • Commitment
  • Information Management
  • Planning and Organising

  • Leadership Potential
  • Resilience
  • Self Confidence
  • Risk Taking
  • Motivation

The layout of the competency selection page on Profile:Match2™ will change to reflect this update. Competency colours and groupings will also be updated on all reports. Descriptions of these competencies can be found in this document.

New Personality Scales for 'Decision Making', 'Analytic' and 'Strategic Awareness' Competencies

The competencies 'Decision Making', 'Analytic' and 'Strategic Awareness' have been rebuilt to use different scales that more accurately reflect the personality measures driving the competencies. This has resulted in updated report text and new questions for the Job Analysis Survey and 360 rater assessments. Reports for candidates assessed against the existing versions of these competencies will change only marginally if regenerated (although the reports may look different due to the competency category changes).
