functioning in children and adolescents. This assessment is strength based and highlights areas of positive functioning as well as areas for development. It is a useful tool that can be used to identify an individual’s strengths and weaknesses in order to help that individual develop the skills needed for academic, personal, and social success.

Assessment Scales

The EQ-i:YV has the following scales:

  • Intrapersonal
  • Interpersonal
  • Stress Management
  • Adaptability
  • General Mood
  • Positive Impression (validity)
  • Inconsistency Index (validity)

Areas Of Application

The EQ-i:YV can be used for the following purposes:

  • Professionals in counselling and clinical environments can all use this assessment to assess the emotional health of children and teenagers.
  • It can be used in educational environments to assist students in coping with demands of school that could lead to underachievement, dropping out of school and/or the possible development of emotional and behavioural problems.
