Have you ever wondered what we as professionals can do to help grow the South African economy? How we can contribute to our country and its people?
The answer is lies in a process that we are all familiar with: Career guidance.
Career guidance is primarily focused on realising the goals and potential of individuals - however it has shown to have considerable social and economic benefits.
Career guidance enhances a country’s human capital through an improvement in job satisfaction, engagement, productivity, equity and a range of other social benefits. These benefits in turn have major concrete benefits for the economy and our country as a whole.
With this in mind JvR Psychometrics in partnership with Professor Kobus Maree (author) now provides all registered professionals electronic access to the South African developed interest inventory known as the Maree Career Matrix (MCM) on JvR Online.
The MCM is used to measure both career interests and self-estimates of confidence about aptitude to follow certain careers. The MCM can be used with South Africans with a minimum of Grade 9 second language English or Afrikaans proficiency level.
It can be administered by psychologists, registered counsellors, and psychometrists to test-takers on an individual basis or in group format. Other professionals may use the results for the purposes of fostering career development.
