JvR is proud to announce the launch of our electronic assessment platform called JvR Online. We officially went live in October with two South African tools to mark the occasion, namely:

1. The research version of the Prospect Screener - that has already assessed over 2500 individuals. The Prospect Screener measures entry level requirements for most occupations. It will primarily be used to identify candidates who do not meet the basic requirements of the job. Successful candidates would then undergo more thorough assessment to ensure fit to the job. It takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. The one-page Individual Report provides results on all scales categorised into ‘screened out, prospect, and good prospect’.

2. The Basic Traits Inventory (BTI) with its new ‘look and feel’ Profile Report. As many may already know, the BTI is a personality inventory that has been developed in South Africa in order to assess the Big Five factors of personality. These factors are: Openness to Experience, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness and Neuroticism. The BTI also includes a measure of social desirability. Each of the five factors is subdivided into four or five facets, which allows the test user to create a more meaningful and in-depth personality profile for the test taker. The BTI is an easy to use, easy to understand personality inventory. It uses language that people are likely to use every day rather than complicated psychological terms. It has been well-researched in the South African context and has been demonstrated to work effectively across cultures and language groups. Future developments include a Competency Report and a BTI Youth Version.

3. From an international perspective, we are delighted to have the world class Hogan Assessment Series, which includes the Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI); Hogan Development Survey (HDS) and Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory (MVPI), integrated into our system from the 3rd December 2012. The launch of JvR Online marks a new era for accessing assessments at JvR - wherever you may be based. It also provides the perfect platform for data collection. We look forward to growing the offering in the coming months focusing on affordable, high quality, and locally developed assessments. The next tools to be included are the Work-related Risk and Integrity scale and the Verbatim and Numeratum to name a few. Join us as we leverage the benefits of the interface between Psychology and Technology.
