Specific Learning Difficulties: Blaming working memory and processing speed?

1.           Having been identified as two of the cognitive skills that children with SLD often struggle with, the workshop will focus on an elaboration of our understanding of working memory and processing speed. In addition, we will also look at specific assessment measures that can be used in assessing these skills in children, as well as specific subtests of certain cognitive assessment measures that tap into these skills. At the end of the workshop, we would have elaborated on our understanding of working memory and processing speed, our understanding of the assessment measures and subtests that can be used in assessing these further, and our understanding of their relationship to classroom performance.
