Work Readiness Programme

Getting ready for the workplace is a developmental process and does not happen overnight or without effort

Virtual or In-class

The current world of work is highly competitive. To find a job and stay in that job, employees have to differentiate themselves from the thousands of others that are in the same position. Developing well-rounded employability skills needed for finding, keeping, and being successful in a job is thus paramount.

Getting ready for the workplace is a developmental process and does not happen overnight or without effort.  JVR Academy has built a reputation for successfully facilitating work readiness, entrepreneurial, and other employability power skills programmes in a variety of contexts across a range of career development stages. These include the work readiness programmes of eDeaf Learners, StudyTrust Graduates, Standard Bank Graduates, Fasken Marteneau Candidate Attorneys, Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Graduates, Jozi Digital Ambassadors, and St Stithians Student Teachers.

The overall aim of our Work Readiness Programme is to facilitate knowledge, attitudes, values, and skills pertaining to personal development, social awareness, and the world of work, resulting in a readiness for the demands of the world of work among young individuals.

The design, structure, and content of the programme depend on your needs, specific context, and level of employees (e.g. learnerships, internships, graduate programmes, or young employees). We suggest a flexible model that focuses on four interrelated domains, considering the employee’s personal and interpersonal development, within a bigger social and organisational context:

You’re in the world of work – Now it’s time to shine

  1. Leveraging your context

    • Know the world you are working in

    • The remote, virtual and hybrid world

    • Building interpersonal relationships and trust
